How To Know I Am Pregnant

Here are the basic symptoms and tips that will tell you whether you are expecting or not..

Missed Period
When you have missed your period you can take it for granted that you have conceived. This is an age old sign. But there are some women who bleed lightly at the beginning of their menstrual cycle. It so happens that throughout their pregnancy period the menstrual cycle goes on. But this is a rare instance, although it can not be altogether denied.

Pregnancy Tests
You need to check the level of HCG (the hormone secreted at the time of pregnancy) to know whether you are pregnant or not. The report being negative is very rare. If a report comes negative and later on positive it might be because the test was done very early. But when a positive report later on reveals that you are not pregnant, it may be because of an early miscarriage. For pregnancy test you can always fall back upon your gynecologist or the manufacturing company that offers the same.

Morning sickness
The inception of pregnancy is accompanied by a nauseating feeling in the mornings. But this is feature not found in all women. While some women may experience an evening sickness; others may feel sick all throughout the day. Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a serious situation can lead to dehydration and critical state. And so it has to be checked.

Breast Soreness
The soreness of breasts can also be considered as a sign of pregnancy. But the soreness generally fades away by the second trimester of pregnancy.

Vaginal Discharge
Vaginal discharge is another sign of pregnancy. To protect the baby the cervix obstructs the foreign material to enter the body. And so there is only increase in the volume. No sign of itchiness, dryness or any other disturbance is found. But mild vaginal secretions can be noticed.

Fatigue/Constipation
The hormone secreted during pregnancy is called 'Progesterone'. Fatigue occurs due to the high level of secretion of this hormone. And so this can be considered as an early sign of carrying. There will be a marked change in your bowel movement during pregnancy. They get more relaxed. But at the same time you may visit the bathroom frequently for urinating. And this is because of a particular pregnancy hormone called, Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) that stimulates urination.

Headaches
Headaches occur due to alterations in the hormones. But headaches simply can not be considered as a sign of confirmed pregnancy because there may be other reasons that can cause headaches, too.

Bloated / Fatigue
Women experiencing bloating can not always be confirmed to be pregnant because some women feel bloated even before their menstrual cycle, too.

Darkened Areolas
During pregnancy the area around nipple grows darker. There is also an increase in the number of the veins in breasts and the tiny nubs around the areolas. All these refer that you are going to be a mother, soon
